How to Get Shards in Dreamality
Every confirmed shard source in the Chapter 1 demo, starting with hide-and-seek.
Shards are the demo’s quiet collectible. They are not a gacha. They are not in a shop. They sit in story spaces, and one of them is a reward for playing with children. If you are here because a comment said “I CAN’T FIND THE LAST SHARD,” start at the park, not in a wall.
Frutiger Studios has not published an official shard count in the experience description. This guide lists confirmed sources from player reports on the live demo (August–September 2026) and flags what is still rumor. When the studio adds a counter to the HUD, we will put that number at the top.
Confirmed: park hide-and-seek
Players who finished hide-and-seek with the kids at the park received a shard and the Playful badge (“Thanks for playing with us!”). That pairing is the most repeated tip in the demo’s first month.
How to do it without a script ESP:
- Reach the park on the walkthrough spine (after fields / nihility).
- Talk to the children until they invite you to play. If you walk past them, you will not get a prompt later in the school.
- Let them hide. Do not sprint in a grid like a simulator. Think like a kid: trees, the far side of the path, behind the companion, near the building glass, in a spot the camera just showed you.
- The “last kid” is usually not clipped under the map. Several players found him after they stopped overthinking.
- Finish the round. Wait for the thank-you line. Check that Playful awarded. If Playful awarded and you still feel one shard short, the missing one is elsewhere — keep reading.
How shards behave
- They persist on the account the way Roblox collectibles in story places usually do: rejoin should not reset a shard you already picked up.
- They are easy to walk past because the highlight is polite. Rotate the camera; on mobile the billboard hides behind your own avatar (controls).
- They are not sold. Anyone offering “shard drop service” in chat is wasting your time.
- They are not granted by codes. There are no codes.
Other story rooms (community-confirmed pattern)
Outside the park, shards show up as interactables in rooms you already visit for badges:
- Apartment / waking frame — check surfaces after the first fade, not only before it. A shard that appears after a headache beat is still a shard.
- Open fields — walk the fence lines and the base of the glass building. Visit badges can fire before you finish searching.
- Nihility lands — look at objects that do not match the fog (a bright prop in a gray field). If it highlights, interact; do not assume it is scenery.
- School — do not shard-hunt here until you can survive the loop. The school guide is for not getting caught. Grab glints only when the hall is empty.
- Rain fork — if you are hunting Blind To The Rain, search after the badge, not during a panic sprint.
If a creator’s all-badge video shows a sparkle, pause it; that is a better locator than a random TikTok with no place ID.
The “last shard” checklist
Work this list in order before you assume a bug:
- Do you have Playful? If no, the park is the shard.
- Did you talk to NPCs until lines repeated? Some interacts only appear after A Listening Ear progress.
- Did you finish headache? A later apartment interact can be gated on that beat.
- Did you visit both open fields and nihility lands and then walk them a second time? Visit badges fire on enter; shards hide on the second lap.
- Are you on the official place
88127769676091? Copies will not share inventory. - Only then ask Discord. Include which badges you already have from the checklist.
What is still unverified
- An exact total (we will not invent “7 shards” to look complete).
- A shard behind There’s nothing beyond. Some players report a glint after the sermon; some report only the badge. Treat it as optional until two independent clips agree.
- Any shard that requires noclip. If the only way a video finds it is through a wall, it is either a leak of an unreleased room or a mesh mistake. Unreleased rooms belong to roadmap, not to your 100%.
Why shards exist
They slow you down. Dreamality’s writing needs you to look at a bench, a playground, a rug. A shard is a bribe to look. If you ESP them all in thirty seconds, you will still miss Dream Guy’s “Welcome back..” and you will still wipe in school.
Get the park shard first. Walk the fields twice. Then go back to being a person in a dream, not a collector in a spreadsheet.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Dreamality demo players.
How many shards are in Dreamality?
Frutiger Studios has not posted an official total. Confirm park hide-and-seek first, then sweep story rooms. We will add a number when the HUD does.
Does hide-and-seek really give a shard?
Yes — that is the most repeated player report, paired with the Playful badge. Details are in the park section above.
I have Playful but I am still missing one.
The missing shard is not the kid. Revisit apartment, fields, and nihility with camera rotation. Use the checklist in this guide.
Can a script pick them up for me?
Universal ESP can show meshes. It can also get you banned and it will skip NPC gates. Prefer this guide; scripts are optional and discouraged.
