Getting Started in Dreamality
From the apartment fade to your first shard — without treating it like a simulator.
Dreamality is a Roblox story demo about sleeping through your problems until the dream stops being kind. You do not need a trading Discord, a luck potion, or a code. You need about forty minutes, headphones, and a willingness to talk to children in a park. This is the first-hour guide.
What you are joining
The live place is Dreamality [DEMO] by Frutiger Studios!. It is tagged Adventure / Story, morphs you to R6, and caps the server at 25. The description calls it a short, unfinished, early-access Chapter 1 demo with quiet horror, liminal spaces, dreamcore, and weirdcore. It is inspired by A Broken Dream. It is not a Backrooms game and not that other itch.io title named Dreamality.
If the thumbnail is a blonde straw hat on the left and a faceless suit on the right, you have the right door.
First load
- Set graphics high enough to see fog. The art is the product. On a phone, lock 30 FPS if the apartment stutters.
- Turn on sound. The OST is original to the place; players clocked it in the first week.
- Wait through the opening. Do not skip so hard that you miss the “tomorrow” line. That line is the thesis.
- You should earn Welcome To Dreamality just for existing here. If you do not, you joined a copycat place — leave and use the official link above.
The clip in the middle of this page is a short public look at the demo, not a full route. For a complete run, use the demo walkthrough.
How to move
Full binds are on controls. The short version:
- PC: WASD, Space to jump, Shift if sprint is enabled in your build, E or click to interact, mouse to look.
- Mobile: joystick, jump button, tap the highlighted prop. The interact billboard is easy to miss on a small screen — rotate until the prompt faces you.
- Console: left stick move, A/X jump, interact on the face button the experience binds (check the on-screen hint).
You are R6. Shift-lock helps in the school later; you do not need it in the apartment. Crouch if your client exposes it — some stealth beats in school punish loud movement.
First rooms, in order
Apartment / waking frame. Dim, domestic, a laptop, a rug, sometimes the faceless figure sitting like he pays rent. This is the Sub Realm arguing that the waking world is the lie. Do not rush the fade. Interact with anything that highlights. headache is a story beat, not a secret.
Open fields. Bright grass, trees, a glass building in the distance. This is where the companion energy lives. Walk until the open fields badge pops. If it does not, you clipped a loading fade — keep walking.
Nihility lands. The name is on a badge because Frutiger Studios wants you to notice the emptiness. Fog, less color, more “you should go back.” Visit it on purpose for the badge, then leave when the demo lets you. Details sit on the area tier list.
Park. Children. Hide-and-seek. One shard and the Playful badge. If you skip the park to “save time,” you will search for the last shard at midnight. Play the game the kids ask for.
School. Later. Not your first hour unless you are stubborn. When you are ready, school is the guide.
What to do on purpose
- Talk to every NPC until their lines repeat. A Listening Ear exists because people skip voice.
- Look at the bench. Dream Guy is a character, not a jumpscare pack.
- Favorite the place and join Discord after the first session so Sweet Dreams? is not the only souvenir you have when Chapter 1 ships.
- Ignore scripts. Speed and noclip will skip the only writing in the demo.
What not to do
- Do not hunt codes. There are none.
- Do not treat other players as enemies. Multiplayer is “friends you visualize in the dream,” max 25, no PvP loop.
- Do not leave after the park thinking you finished. The school is the demo’s actual test.
- Do not mix this checklist with A Broken Dream clocks. Different game.
After the first hour
If you have Welcome, open fields, nihility lands, headache, and Playful, you are ahead of half the server. Next:
- Demo walkthrough for routing
- Badges for Listening Ear, Blind To The Rain, and the S-tier pair
- Badge checklist so you do not trust memory
Dreamality is short. Play it like a story, not like a grind. The grind is Chapter 1, and it is not out.
